• How do I take part in the hunt ?

  Simply order the game on this website (included in all the packs), then solve the 15 riddles that will reveal the location of a chest buried somewhere in the Caribbean.

• What is the treasure to win ?

  The first person to dig up the chest will be declared the winner and will receive the Gold & Crystal treasure: a chest filled with gold coins and a crystal skull set with an opal, with an estimated total value of $500,000.

• What is the nature of the partnership between Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Unsolved Hunts for this treasure hunt ?

  This is an official licensing partnership between Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Unsolved Hunts.

  Beyond this licensing agreement, the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced teams have been closely involved at every stage of the treasure hunt’s development, ensuring full respect of the game’s lore and universe (although it is not necessary to have played the video game to take part in the hunt).

  This close collaboration makes the project a true co-creation between both teams.

• Is the game open to everyone?

  The game is restricted to adults only. Minors are not allowed to participate.

• Gold prices fluctuate. How do you guarantee the value of the treasure ?

  We anticipated this with our partner Aucoffre, responsible for creating exclusive gold coins.

  
  The weight and purity of the coins will be adjusted depending on when the treasure is discovered. When the chest is found, the gold coins will represent a total value of €300,000 ($350,000).

  
  The remaining €125,000 ($150,000) is covered by the material and artistic value of the crystal skull.

• How do you play the hunt ?

  This is not a race against time, but a long-term adventure. You must solve the 15 riddles: some are accessible, and as you progress, the challenges become increasingly demanding.

  
  To reach the end, you will need both sharp thinking and perseverance.

  
  On the digital interface, a toolbox is available to guide you toward useful resources (such as MyMaps or Dcode).
  You can also rely on the support of the Discord community, always ready to share ideas and encouragement.
  Finally, the prologue included with the pre-order is designed to immerse you and guide your first steps before tackling the main quest.

  
  By solving the puzzles, you will discover the exact location where the chest is buried. Submit the correct answer and win the treasure!

• I’ve never taken part in a treasure hunt before, do I stand a chance ?

  Yes. The puzzles do not always require advanced cryptography skills: they mainly rely on your historical knowledge, logic, common sense, and intuition.

  
  In fact, during our last hunt, the chest was discovered by someone taking part in their very first treasure hunt!

• Can I gift the game to someone ?

  Absolutely. No proof of purchase is required to claim the treasure.

  
  When you place your order, you will receive unique access credentials for the digital interface. If you are giving the game as a gift, simply pass these on to the recipient so they can create their account and join the hunt.

• Can you play as a team ?

  Yes, and it is highly recommended to maximize your chances.

  
  Since the treasure is awarded to a single person, if you play as a team, you will need to designate in advance the member who will officially receive the prize.

  
  After that, it’s up to you: keep it, share it, or even auction it to divide the value.

• What do we need to find ?

  Once correctly solved, the 15 riddles of Gold & Crystal will lead you to an extremely precise location in the Caribbean, where a chest has been buried.

  
  This is the chest you must find first to win the hunt… and the treasure.

• Who knows the solutions ?

  Only the author(s) of the puzzles know the solutions. The official solutions are held by a bailiff.

• What is the expected duration of the hunt ?

  This hunt is expected to last between 2 and 5 years.

• How can I ask questions to the author of the hunt ?

  You can join the community of hunters directly on the hunt’s official Discord server. A dedicated Q&A forum will be available there.
